High Expectations Lead to Big Letdown – Richard Bird – New York, NY
I had a Fujitsu ScanSnap 510 for more than a year. Scanner Neat has my attention for its aesthetic design (I am a product designer) and its software better. So if I put on my S510 with my secretary for storing work files, I jumped.
I must say, I was incredibly disappointed again. There is a huge gap between the promise and the presentation of this product compared to its ease of use and value.
No matter what the settings, the scans arepainfully slow, even when the color and OCR are off (BW-image-setting only).
The software application that comes with the scanner is really only of value if you OCR every single document that you scan. If you do, the wait is even more surprising. Seems minutes * for each page .* multipage document? Forget about it.
Paper Source is miserable. Even one would oscillate and sheets of plain letter to distort during the scanning process. For some reason, there is aToo much driving in the width of the feed and it seems that the feed rollers are at the center not only increases the instability in the document feeder.
Now I miss my S510, the speed of light and put the scanner Neat shame at all points mentioned above.
Conclusion: Great design, great promise and great disappointment. I can not find anything good to say have. I justify 45 days of daily use and in fact with my purchase. Not good.

I wish that the poor an overview of the scanner have already become familiar. But the version of Windows has been pretty good reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try.
The scanner runs quite well on text documents easier. But if the surface is glossy paper (as in all revenue Amazon.com) scan of poor quality. The scanning speed is ok, but no OCR on each document, seemed to take forever before you can use the scanned image.
The software seems poorly written andPerhaps a version 1.0 or something similar. Was not even seem to be well-thought interface. It ended with causing more work for each document filed paper documents. (Perhaps the Windows software is better.)

When I opened this product it seemed really nice and looks forward to the digitization of many of my … never mind early scan, however, I noticed little white lines to analyze the documents and the software forever in an attempt to take and convert documents to PDF … My HP scanner is almost instantaneous. What was the worst thing is the program … They say it was for Mac OS X crashes, but the software is not just for all the time, but written reasonsThe entire computer to freeze, too … Many, many paper jams, poor layout and organization to the presentation "documents" and the BIG ONE …. Many of the texts on my documents are dark gray and light gray, these scanners and the software easily and completely cut out and make them disappear … useless ….. My HP All in One printer / scanner offers a quality much better with the colors in grayscale, and B / W, which is 10 times faster than in software, and file sizes are much smaller, producing a sharpPhotos … Do not buy, please send them to me sorry for the wasted time and for all! (Do not know if the PC version of Windows is much better, but my experience with this product on a new iMac was frustrating beyond measure ….
